Hollardo – What Killed Elvis Presley?
what a great song – so appropriate for the crazies these days down South
Hollerado – What Killed Elvis Presley? (Live From 17th Ave)
Hollarado is a great band right in our own backyard
Hollerado is a Canadian indie rock band from Ottawa, Ontario. Formed in 2007, the band consists of Menno Versteeg (lead vocals, guitar), Nixon Boyd (lead guitar, backing vocals), Dean Baxter (bass, backing vocals), and Jake Boyd (drums, backing vocals). Hollerado released four studio albums, before disbanding in 2019. The band initially reunited in 2024 to perform as a one-off opening act for Tokyo Police Club in November, but had fully reunited in 2025.
Great that they are back. Exclaim! last November explain what brought them back
Opening track “Start a Band” is a power ballad about forming a band as the world goes bananas, and the subsequent four tracks detail some of the ways things have gone wrong since Hollerado broke up. “That’s Showbiz Babeeee!” describes the disheartening state of the music industry in 2025 with a hyperactive rock ‘n’ roll surge, while the classic Hollerado power pop single “What Killed Elvis Presley?” declares, “Hope I don’t catch the American dream.”
Bad Bunny – NUEVAVoL
Have we even played Bad Bunny?? If not, this is the time to make things right.
BAD BUNNY – NUEVAYoL (Video Oficial) | DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS
and this is a great video. As Wikipedia explains
The music video was released on July 4, 2025, also to coincide with the United States’ Independence Day.[9] The video begins with Bad Bunny walking through the snow and, as he gets into a car, he asks himself, “¿Y este frío cuando se acaba?” (“When will this cold end?”). From there, the rest of the video focuses on a quinceañera celebration, complete with food, dancing, and black-and-white images of the Puerto Rican diaspora in New York. Then, near the end of the video, several young people are seen listening to a radio station playing a message that simulates Donald Trump, repenting of his policies and apologizing to immigrants in America.
The Trump part is a bit weird.
There is another official video – the first one is more fun. It’s a great song so it should have more than one show
Aiyana-Lee – Highest to Lowest
Great video amazing song incredible voice – strange movie

She writes on Instagram
My song “Highest 2 Lowest” debuted number 1# for FILM, TV and STAGE 🥺😭🖤 WOW!!!!!! Thank You! It’s really crazy to see a song you wrote in your bedroom be part of such an incredible project. Especially being 100% independent, no label, no management etc. So so so grateful. Keep streaming 🫶 Shoutout to everyone part of this project #highest2lowest
and about the movie
A new Spike Lee joint is always a reason to celebrate, and Highest 2 Lowest certainly meets the lofty expectations that accompany it. Marking Lee’s fifth collaboration with Denzel Washington, the film is a reinterpretation of the Akira Kurosawa masterpiece High and Low, itself adapted loosely from Evan Hunter’s 1959 novel King’s Ransom. The movie follows Washington’s music executive, David King, whose son gets kidnapped alongside his best friend, sending David on a mission to fight for his family’s survival. It’s a thrilling ride with an eclectic cast that includes Jeffrey Wright, former NBA player Rick Fox, and rapper A$AP Rocky.
maybe I nedd to watch the movie again, or take more gummies next time…
Robert Plant – Ticket Taker
There is no video of Robert Plant for this song, so there is a link in the title and an actual video is here
Robert Plant with Saving Grace – Everybody’s Song (Later… with Jools Holland)
wow, an incredible performance!
Saving Grace was named after the band Plant had been performing with for over six years, which includes singer Suzi Dian, drummer Oli Jefferson, guitarist Tony Kelsey, banjo and string player Matt Worley, and cellist Barney Morse-Brown.[10] In a statement, Plant spoke of the joyful dynamic he shared with the band, highlighting “the sweetness of the whole thing” and noting that they would “laugh” together frequently.[11] The album was recorded between April 2019 and January 2025 in studios across the Cotswolds and the Welsh Borders.[12] Plant began working with the Saving Grace collective during the COVID-19 pandemic, creating a roots-oriented sound inspired by folk and traditional blues.[13]
The “Ticket Taker” song was written by Ben Miller and Jeff Prystowsky and is featured on The Low Anthem’s album Oh My God, Charlie Darwin. You can listen to it here

A bit more about the collaboration between Plant (77 yrs old) and the band Saving Grace, their first album was released September 25, 2025, but they have been playing together since 2019.
While we can pretty much draw a straight line through Band of Joy (Buddy Miller, Patty Griffin), Plant’s two collaborations with Krauss, and, to a lesser extent, The Sensational Shape Shifters, in terms of unearthing vintage folk and blues, those collaborations were mostly with Americans and several familiar names. Here, Plant is working with fellow musicians whom he met at his home in the Welsh borderlands. They have been working together intermittently since 2019 as part of a ‘local project,’ playing in various locales in the UK, and have finally emerged from the ‘underground’ to produce this recording. The band includes Dian, who also plays accordion, Matt Worley (cuatro, banjo, acoustic guitar), Tony Kelsey (acoustic, electric guitars), Oli Jefferson (drums), and Barney Morse-Brown (cello).
Bob’s Notes
The Elbow Patches – “The Day the World Got Away From Me” – Achingly Familiar
There’s not a lot of info on this release, so I’ll quote The Burning Wood blog, “John Sally Ride main man John Dunbar works up a new alias for his most recent project. The Elbow Patches exude a psychedelic pop feeling on “The Day Got Away From Me.” Just one of ten great pop numbers on their full length record Achingly Familiar.”
I concur.

Danny Ayala – “I Don’t Like Her” – Only Fools Fall in Love
Ayala is a classically trained pianist, but he is also the Lemon Twigs bass player. (Old Fellas fave and staple)
He has known the D’Addario brothers since high school. His debut (?) album Only Fools Love Again came out last fall. All you need to know about this compelling artsit can be found here.
The Belair Lip Bombs – “Again and Again” – Again
The Belair Lip Bombs are an Australian band formed in 2017. After releasing several ep’s and one full-length album, the band became the first Australian group to sign with Jack White’s Third Man Records. The first result of this partnership is the album, Again, released in October. Fun fact! The band is named after a set of skateboard wheels!

The whole album is just as good as our chosen song.
Geese – “Taxes” – Getting Killed
Geese is a Brooklyn based band that is lately getting a lot of attention. Year-end polls in most music/rock journals have the album Getting Killed as one of the best releases of 2025. Vocalist Cameron Winters might not be to everyone’s taste, but the songwriting is solid and interesting. Once again, I am going to have to quote Burning Wood as it echoes my opinion of the band. Geese is “Wild and wacky, with moments of musical brilliance and stretches of nerve-shredding nonsense. Never boring. This will definitely get a second spin. Maybe.”
As you can see from the following 2 reviews, Geese are getting a lot of love.

I picked the track that for lack of a better term is the most accessible as performed on Kimmel.
Snocaps – “Heathcliff”- Snocaps
Snocaps is an American indie rock band consisting of Katie Crutchfield, better known as Waxahatchee, her sister Allison, MJ Lenderman and Brad Cook. The group surprise released this debut back in October. This is a really fun record. https://www.pastemagazine.com/music/snocaps/katie-and-allison-crutchfield-snocaps-album-review
Heathcliff is one damn catchy song.
